BBQ Rubbed Half Chicken
- 1 Chicken, halved for roasting
- BBQ seasoning (store bought or homemade)
- Salt & Pepper
- BBQ Sauce
One hour prior to cooking, liberally season chicken halves with BBQ seasoning, salt & pepper. Allow to rest in refrigerator to marinate in flavors.
Preheat grill to MEDIUM
Place both haves of Chicken, skin side up, in Large Grill bag. Seal bag by folding open end up.
Place sealed bag on grill and roast in bag for 30-35 minutes.
Open the bag and check is contents. Using a meat thermometer check the deepest part of the chicken's thigh to get a reading. You are looking for an internal temperature of 165 degrees. If the chicken is still under-cooked move the bag and its contents to a higher rack (if possible) or turn the heat down, for gentler cooking.
When the chicken has reached the desired temperature, allow its contents to rest in the bag 10-15 minutes.
Top with your favorite BBQ sauce and enjoy!
